Save the environment. If you IPod is not playing as long as it use to don't buy a new one. Purchase a non OEM battery and you will be surprised at how much longer your IPod plays on a single charge. I found this to be the same with my Cell Phone. Purchasing a replacement battery is a great option.
A simple process and they provide the tools and easy to follow instructions. Anyone can do it !

Going Green - Recycling Technology
I am surprised that it has taken this long for large companies to get serious about our environment. With family working in the industry, my values have been constantly challenged over the years. Yes I am drawn to the new "Toys" and marvel at their capabilities but what about the waste? Heavy emphasis on the so many as the landfills are exploding. Having a son in law working for HP and a spouse working in a server environment, I have seen the mass distribution of new equipment as if decking the children out for school in September.
One would think that these high teck companies responsible for the provision and expansion of teck related services would have recognized their role sooner. Do they really believe that they have not influenced society. Was it not their intent to be the social role model when it comes to upgrading? They set the standards and expect the masses to follow. We have abided by their wishes.
The life of a computer is 3 years - even if it still works fine.
People complain about the value of a car depreciating but computer are worse
The life of a walk man - " Before it was obsolete " - less then a year
Cost $40.00 - a must have item for kids going back to school in the Fall
Have you notice ????
The marketing of walkmans as portable music delivery devices paved the way for the explosion of the IPod market.
When I introduce adult friends to my new I Pod Touch the most common response I get is " No I have not seen one - I have seen the Kids with them "
Good Marketing Yes ! No question about that but what about the waste and peer pressure. I am fortunate that my children have grown and I do not have to provide their technological pleasures such as the XBox, PS3s, cellphones and IPODS not to mention their recent need to own laptop coputers to fit into their peer group when they return to school in the fall.
Perhaps this has some bearing on the rising personal debt that is troubling so many families in this day and age.
Needless to say I am pleased to see that HP has published a white paper on slowing down the rotation of computers but doubt that the effect on society will have an immediate effect.

Cash Rewards - Mobile Payments
Have you ever wanted to be on the front end of one of those marketing programs that go viral? Free sign up ! In fact you receive a $100.00 cash rewards incentive without any purchase. It is a new payment processing system far better then PayPal. Soon to be the method of payment for electronic funds transfers using your cell phone, I Phone or any future technology which has text messaging capabilities. They have a lot of merchants on board at this time and more coming every day. They offer a merchant program and an affiliate program and excellent training. The $100.00 you receive for looking over their system is enough to get a general interest but taking a risk may be necessary if you want to make the Real Money. I am not sure that you will want to kick yourself later for not taking advantage of this one.
I joined this program for the simple reason I am tired of paying banks money every month just so I can spend my money. I am not sure how it is in other places but having my cash deposits held for days till the funds are accessible in my bank account. I look forward to using Mobile Payments where I can send money and receive money without any of those nasty charges currently being paid to my present banking system.
I have been a PayPal user for over 8 years and find that the transaction fees keep increasing just as the fees on Ebay are going through the roof. It is time for a break from high transaction fees and it seems I have found what I am looking for!

Cash for your old Technology
I forgot to mention that you can get actual dollars for your cameras, mp3 players and all sorts of used items without going to the trouble of using Ebay or having a yard sale. I am an avid supporter of recycling old technology and the cash incentive provided by Second Rotation is a valued service in the age of environmental concerns. Not to mention the joy of receiving cash for those items which are no longer used and sitting in a drawer somwhere? Second Roatation actually pays a decent price without the hassels of selling them someday when you find the time. Clean the dust off the shelves and dig those unused items out of the drawer. PS. I am so excited about the price of the new G3 that I am selling my IPod Touch.

Finally ! This makes Cents !!!
With the rapid changes in technology and especially with the introduction of the new G3 IPhone it makes sense to recycle your old phone or IPod. What is better then getting actual cash for your old phone. I was quoted 100.00 plus for my IPod Touch which is half of the purchase price of the new G3. What makes more sense than that?

IPhone Comparison
The iPod Touch draws 99 percent of its features from the iPhone. The bad news is that the iPod Touch does not have the built-in speakers, microphone, camera, and Bluetooth functions like the IPhone. The included functions of the IPod Touch are Safari Web browser, POP/IMAP e-mail, YouTube video portal, photo viewer, music player, video player, stock tracker, weather forecaster, notepad, and iTunes Wi-Fi music store which place the iPod Touch on the cutting edge for portable video players. The only product in competition with the iPod Touch's combination of a Wi-Fi-enabled Web browser, wireless music store, wide-screen video playback, photo viewer, and audio player, is the Archos 605 WiFi.
One of the features that put the iPod Touch ahead of the iPhone is the ability to output video and photos to a television using an optional Apple AV cable, Universal Dock, or qualifying third-party video accessory. Another advantage the iPod Touch offers over the iPhone is the ability to manually manage music and video content in lieu of setting up automatic content syncing rules within iTunes. Note: The IPod Touch does not support a generic USB storage mode.

Included Functions
The ease and simplicity of the IPod Touch, combined with a touch of elegance makes the IPod Touch a must have for discriminating buyers who appreciates technology. Once set up the IPod Touch is easy to use. Setting up your new IPod Touch usually takes an hour of your time the convenience of having one in your hand easily out weights any time spent getting comfortable with it.
The included functions ( Apps ) that come with the IPod Touch need to be extended to access the true beauties. The upgrade which is purchasable once you initialize you IPod Touch bears with it an additional cost of $20.00. This may seem unfair on the part of APPLE but believe me the additional cost is well worth it. Once you have the upgrade you are set to go.
If you choose not to purchase the upgrade you will not have access to email services which I find to be the ultimate add on for the IPod Touch. Now I can take my email out to the deck without porting my laptop to overheat in the hot sun. I can wash my car or sip lemonade on the patio and still receive that email that sends me back into action. A one time $20.00 upgrade ! Seriously how can I do without it?
